RELEASE: Volume 64

I said it wasn't going to happen, but here it is. Click to download. Sorry about the half year delay, I honestly didn't realize what a clusterfuck the scan scene was.

With only a dozen or so hours left to go on Volume 64, I was contacted by another group who were also going to redo the beginning of Stone Ocean. Rapidly burning out, I handed my incomplete scans over to them. Months later, they informed me that my scans were thrown out in favor of better raws they just acquired. Damn. More months later, they decide to maybe throw those new ones out too in favor of the new all-color scans. I figured at this point it would be in everyone's best interest just to finish up my own scans.

Will there be more? I don't know. Scaaans are haaaard eeeehhnnnn. Right now I'm just going to see what the other group has in store for Stone Ocean so this doesn't happen again.

Oh and I've finally done away with the placeholder, so I'm "Unmendable Scans" now.

The disappointingly short journey ends, farewell my friends!

Recently, HWMN Scans informed me they were also going to be tackling the first three Stone Ocean volumes. I have no want to do redundant work and my motivation for this project was suffering, so I gave them everything I had done up till now (100% cleaned raws for volume 64 w/ about 50% typesetting done) and they're taking over from here. Expect our joint release... sometime, I'm not sure when.

There is a chance I'll be working with HWMN again, but I've got a lot of other projects coming up in my life and my drive for scanlating is running dry at the moment, so it's going to be awhile until I have time for this again. (Keep me posted though guys really)

As for part 3, who cares! Well, that is to say everyone. Everyone cares. But I'm sitting here with only one Stone Ocean DLC character/no SBR DLC, and am feeling resentful, so I'm content to leave with my 2 volume contribution.

So that's goodbye then, for now at least.

Quick progress report

Thought it may be necessary to do a mandatory 'not dead' post since so many fledgling scan groups go awol after their initial debut. Basically, the raws for first volume of part six are way harder to clean than the two volumes following it. So the volume I'm on right now is taking way longer than expected, but I'll fly through the other two (comparatively). Also, the third and final volume I'll be working on has great scan quality for its last few chapters, so it's already partially done.

After that, if I'm not sick of scans, my priorities in no particular order are:
• Joining the rest of the spreads in part 6
• Joining the spreads in early part 7
• .... maybe working another certain arc, maybe not, who knows...

Hopefully, people will get off their ass and scan the upcoming Rohan one shot. I don't want to have to wait a year and then just do it myself out of frustration like I did with Village of Millionaires.
Also thanks to whoever attributed my part 3 scans to Ignition One. I guess that was ironic justice since I dewatermarked all their scans.

Digital release conflict news

Apparently I fucked up this line. Sorry about that. Grab this image and add it to your archive.
Mere hours after I posted volumes 27 and 28, VlZ went and announced they were releasing part 3 digitally. This is good news because English JoJo and bad news because a) I don't want to waste a ton of time doing work professionals already are and b) supporting localized JoJo is great blah blah etc. So unless this digital campaign fails to launch or is discontinued somewhere down the line, I may not be doing part 3 scans. Maybe just a couple scans of the censored pages.

Despite this, I have serious doubts that this digital release will ever be successful enough to get us up to part 6. Even if it does, it'll take them ages. So I'm still going ahead with redoing the first three volumes of part 6.
ONCE AGAIN I'D LIKE TO IMPLORE THE INTERNET TO TELL ME WHAT TRANSLATION FIXES NEED TO BE MADE TO THESE VOLUMES, because I'm not a translator, do not have a translator, and am going to be going off of the old scans for dialogue. As it's been proven to me that they occasionally miss great lines ("This is the greatest high!" and the aforementioned icicle bit).

Volumes 27 and 28

So while Anonscans is (hopefully) still chugging away at part 3, I thought I'd take some weight off and begin working backwards from the end.
Volume 27
Volume 28
Apologies for 28. It's much better than what we had, but the raws weren't great. Two pages were missing, so those are shitty looking upscales of the previous versions.

WHAT'S NEXT
Part 6! It feels wrong fixing part 3 when 6 got so screwed over by CC2 in ASB, so I'll be redirecting the attention where it should be out of spite. I'm going to be (slowly) working through fixing the first three volumes. After that, it's back to part 3 if I don't get shut down hard by the powers that be.

WHAT I NEED
According to the internet, there are all kinds of translation errors in early part 6? Let me know in the comments what needs fixing because I can't translate at all and am mostly using the preexisting scans for text.

Death to Watermarks

Fuck watermarks. Here's a big jumbly mess of pages with the watermarks removed.  Sort appropriately into your collection. Includes the formerly vandalized material from parts 1-3, and 7.

The worst offender was the pilot chapter of SBR, so I had to completely redo that. Download here and be sure to grab the image above, because the version in the archive still has a watermark.

Village of Millionaires

Was getting sick of this one shot being left to rot, so I grabbed the French scans, did some shoddy cleaning and joining and slapped a translation I found onto it. Have fun.
