I said it wasn't going to happen, but here it is. Click to download. Sorry about the half year delay, I honestly didn't realize what a clusterfuck the scan scene was.
With only a dozen or so hours left to go on Volume 64, I was contacted by another group who were also going to redo the beginning of Stone Ocean. Rapidly burning out, I handed my incomplete scans over to them. Months later, they informed me that my scans were thrown out in favor of better raws they just acquired. Damn. More months later, they decide to maybe throw those new ones out too in favor of the new all-color scans. I figured at this point it would be in everyone's best interest just to finish up my own scans.
Will there be more? I don't know. Scaaans are haaaard eeeehhnnnn. Right now I'm just going to see what the other group has in store for Stone Ocean so this doesn't happen again.
Oh and I've finally done away with the placeholder, so I'm "Unmendable Scans" now.

ReplyDeleteI'd love you to keep working on this, but I know being alone in this huge task and all that shit that happened takes away anyones motivation.
There's two volumes left, though. Take your time, and if you decide to do it, we'll all be grateful.
Thanks. The probability of me doing 65 and 66 is looking up, especially since I realized I could release them chapter by chapter on Batoto, which makes for a much smaller commitment than tackling a whole volume at once.
DeleteMy only concern is the other group coming in and making my work redundant later (no idea what their plans are now, they are no longer communicating with me), but seeing how disorganized they are, that could potentially be years from now.
On vacation for a week starting today, but I'll look into getting back into it when I get back. I'll be posting a finished/proofread/properly joined version of my SBR ch.1 scan as well.
